Scalo Milano a new generation shopping district on the outskirts of Milan. Cassina opens its third directly owned store in Italy after the historical showrooms in Milan and Meda: a 450sqm showroom in a prominent location in the design area of this new shopping mall.

A hung steel grid unifies the different areas of the store while providing a functional system for lighting appliances and space separation devices. The grid also defines a new way by which the impressive double height of the space is perceived. Underneath the grid terrazzo tiles, wood flooring and color shades ranging from rusty reds to warm greys, create a warm and welcoming home atmosphere.

An independent element, a pavilion within the space, is used as a special stage for displaying small groups of furniture or single iconic pieces.

Primary colors are elected as a tribute to Cassina’s LC Collection by Le Corbusier, Jeanneret, Perriand.

The store design was developed in accordance with In-store Philosophy 3 concept – a new phase of the brand’s coordinated image by art director Patricia Urquiola – and in synergy with Cassina Project Management.
